MANDAN, N.D.-A Mandan voting precinct is the place for potential voters at protest camps in Morton County to cast their ballots if they're qualified voters, the county's auditor said Monday.
Voting precinct 18, located at Midway Lanes, 3327 Memorial Hwy. in Mandan, was where Morton County Auditor Dawn Rhone said would be the voting precinct for such potential voters.
Forms of ID required under North Dakota law include a current driver's license, a state-issued ID card or a tribal ID with a current address on it. People without an ID but meet residency requirements can sign an affidavit, Rhone said last week. Affidavits are a sworn statement by a voter that he or she is a qualified voter in the precinct.
Fraudulently claiming residency in order to vote is a Class A misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of up to one year's imprisonment, a $3,000 fine or both.
