The artwork of Seattle-based photographer Rosanne Olson is on display at the Putnam House in Carrington through July.

Olson grew up in Minot and graduated from Minot State University in 1972. She received a master's degree in journalism from the University of Oregon in 1981. Her photographs are exhibited in galleries in New York City, Houston, Seattle, among others. Olson's Norwegian great-grandfather homesteaded in McHenry County in the early 1900s and her family still lives in Minot.

Olson's passion for fine art photography plays an integral part in her life as a commercial photographer. After obtaining her master's degree, she worked in editorial and newspaper photography for five years. She made the transition to commercial work after moving to Seattle, where she continues to create both advertising and fine art images for nationwide clientele including Boeing, New York City Ballet, Hewlett Packard, Alaska Airlines and others.

The photography exhibit can be viewed at the Putnam House from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 30, during the Music on Main event, which features Seth Mulder and the Goose River Boys. It can also be viewed by appointment. Call Alison at (701) 652-2090.

This exhibit is sponsored by the North Dakota Art Gallery Association and supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts which receives funding from the state Legislature and National Endowment for the Arts.
