A busy week at the Jamestown Speedway continued Wednesday night, including the Fireworks Spectacular.

All five regular classes were in action, racing for the second of three times over a seven-day span.

Wissota Modifieds, Midwest Mods, Street Stocks, Bombers and Road Hogs were all in action on a warm night at the Speedway. Results were not available at press time.

The Northern Outlaw Sprint Association Sprint Car Special highlights the action Saturday night, beginning at 7 p.m.

It will be the first visit to Jamestown for the 410 cubic inch, winged sprint cars, which in the past measured 360 cubic inches.

The NOSA sprints were rained out last season.

Saturday's show will also mark the midway point of the season with several tight battles brewing for point's championships.

Heading into Wednesday night's action, the spread between the top two spots in all four classes were nine points or less.

The tightest race was in the Street Stocks where Dave Rohweder of Wishek holds a razor-thin three-point advantage over defending champion Spencer Johnson with 310 and 307, respectively. Luke Nelson (304) and Rusty Kollman (303) are also close.

Kollman is just five off the lead in the Midwest Mods, currently sitting second with 298 points, just five behind leader Jerry Theis of New Rockford (303).

Bismarck veteran Mod driver Leo Burkhardsmeier has a seven-point edge over John Corell, 305-298.

Leann Christensen continues to hold off 2006 champ Ryan Carr in the Bombers.

The Spiritwood driver has totaled 290 points so far with Carr at 281.
