JoDee Rasmusson, Jamestown Chamber of Commerce, spoke at the Kiwanis noon luncheon meeting July 9 at the Lantern Room. She said Jamestown's 125th Ann-iversary celebration week is June 28 to July 5, 2008. A tentative schedule is posted on the Web at jamestown125.com. It is hoped that as groups plan events for the week they will call the chamber so their event can be added to this schedule. People can use this site to find out what is going on and to locate friends who are attending various events during the 125th Anniversary celebration.
Events on the schedule so far include the following: Rededication of the F-86 at the Jamestown Regional Airport, May 26. Registration and information at the Civic Center June 27 through July 3. Air Show at the Jamestown Regional Airport, June 28. A performance at Reiland Arts Center, Jamestown College, July 2. Louis L'Amour Luncheon at noon and a 7 p.m. Street Dance sponsored by Buffalo City Grille, July 3. Kiddie Bicycle Parade and fireworks, July 4. Fun Run, Bike Race, 125th Anniversary Parade, 6 p.m. Banquet with 5 p.m. Social Hour and 7 p.m. 125th Anniversary Program at the Civic Center all on Saturday, July 5.
Rasmusson said commemorative items will be made available in time for Christmas giving.
The Web site also has a form for donations to be sent to the Anniversary Committee.
President Bob Welsh presided at the meeting; Don and Sharon Caine led the singing. Norman Winkelman collected happy dollars for Camp Rokiwan. Guests from the Valley City Kiwanis Club were Ken Adams and Lowell Busching.

Kim Murray will introduce Mary Lee Nielson, Mayor of Valley City, to speak at the July 23 Kiwanis noon luncheon meeting at the Lantern Room. She will talk about the "Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway."
