The Jamestown Fire Department ready squad responded to a report of a fire at Cavendish Farms at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday when a small fire was reported at a fryer at the potato processing plant.
The ready squad is made up of two firefighters who reported that the fire had been extinguished by the Cavendish Farms staff prior to its arrival.
There were no reports of injuries or damages by the Jamestown Fire Department in the incident.
