HURON, S.D. (AP) -- Huron police are treating the death of a 21-year-old man as a homicide.
Police Chief Doug Schmitt says in a statement that officers responded to a report of two people fighting at an assisted-living facility for people with mental illlness shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday, and found the man lying behind the building in a pool of blood. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 24-year-old man was arrested and is to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday.
Neither man was identified. Police say the men knew one another.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and they declined to answer additional questions Monday, including whether the men lived or worked at the Bradfield Leary Center and whether a weapon was involved.
