RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A Rapid City man accused of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and could get up to 15 years in prison.
In exchange for the guilty plea to aggravated assault, prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge against Shane Anderson, 28. He will be sentenced Aug. 3.
Police said Anderson beat and choked the woman May 3 outside a bar.
