Ray awarded NDSU scholarship
Zachary Ray, son of Justin and JoAnne Ray, Jamestown, received the North Dakota State University Presidential Honor Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.
Ray will enter NDSU in the fall. In high school, he was active in German club and National Honor Society.

Motter invited to scholarship brunch
Megan Motter, Cooperstown, was one of more than 50 students invited to attend the Merit Scholarship Brunch held at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Motter, an equine science major, received the Merriam Legacy Scholarship.
These students and their families began the day with brunch followed by a program in Bede Ballroom, Sargeant Student Center.
The program featured assistant professor Danielle Johannesen, honors program coordinator. Along with following the program, the merit scholars had an opportunity to be the first to register for fall semester classes which start on Aug. 25.
The Merit Scholarship Brunch was hosted by the Student and Family Experience office under the direction of Alysa Tulibaski, student experience and parent coordinator at the U of M Crookston.

Slaby graduates from NDSU
Molly Slaby of Jamestown, graduated May 15 from North Dakota State University with a Doctor of Pharmacy and the Teva Pharmaceuticals-Outstanding Student Award.
Slaby is the daughter of Shawn and Lanna Slaby of Jamestown, and granddaughter of Art Trautmann of Bismarck, formerly of Robinson, and the late Velma Trautmann and Lloyd and Betty Ann Slaby.

McMillan graduates from university
Melissa McMillan, daughter of William and Theresa McMillan of Jamestown, participated in the commencement ceremony at the College of Saint Benedict on May 9 at the Clemens Field House on the CSB campus, St. Joseph, Minn.
McMillan was a candidate to receive a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics.
Dahl awarded AGC of ND Scholarship
Nathan Dahl, Streeter, was awarded a $750 Associated General Contractors of North Dakota Scholarship. He will major in architectural drafting and estimating technology at North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton.
Dahl received one of 35 scholarships awarded by the Education Committee of Associated General Contractors of North Dakota totaling more than $56,000 for the 2015-2016 school year.
Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students with career interests in the construction industry and who are enrolled in North Dakota post-secondary construction programs.
The Associated General Contractors of North Dakota is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to promoting opportunity and excellence in North Dakota’s construction industry. Created in 1951, the AGC of North Dakota represents and serves the needs of all segments of North Dakota’s construction industry including building contractors, highway contractors, municipal-heavy contractors, subcontractors and specialty contractors and construction Industry affiliates.
The AGC of North Dakota has given more than $600,000 in scholarship awards since the program was started.

Peterson named to dean’s list
Paige Peterson of Jamestown has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2014-2015 academic year at Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D.
The list recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with grade-point averages at 3.5 or above.

Kohler graduates from university

Kelsea Vadona Kohler, daughter of Rick and Robin Kohler of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and granddaughter of Cliff and Val Orr of Ypsilanti, received a Master of Arts in communication from the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Missouri Valley.
Kohler, also a teaching/research assistant at UWM, graduated with honors May 17 and was awarded the prestigious Melvin Miller Outstanding MA Student Award.
Given a graduate teaching assistantship from the University of Denver, Kohler will begin pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the fall.
