Thomas Lynn Remmick, Jamestown, was arrested on corruption or solicitation of a minor, sexual assault and failing to register as a sexual offender, Blinsky said. He is in the Stutsman County Correctional Center, where he awaits formal charges.

The Stutsman County Communications Center dispatched Jamestown police officers at about 6 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a 17-year-old juvenile being sexually assaulted, Blinsky said.

Blinsky said the victim told officers that Remmick followed the juvenile in a vehicle near Klaus Park in southwest Jamestown. The victim told officers Remmick enticed the juvenile to get into his vehicle and while driving, the suspect sexually assaulted the juvenile, Blinsky said.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
