The Jamestown Police Department has announced that a convicted high-risk sex offender has relocated to Jamestown.
William James Gehlhoff, 35, lives at 1610 Business Loop East, apartment A. He drives a silver 1997 Ford Taurus with North Dakota license plate 345ABK.
He was assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.
He was convicted in 2015 of possession of material - sex conduct by minor in Barnes County District Court. Authorities said he had hundreds of images of child pornography on his phone.
He was also convicted in 2011 in Stutsman County District Court of possession of material - sex conduct by minor and promote minor obscene sexual performance. Authorities said Gehlhoff's computer showed images of child pornography and he was exchanging child pornography and chatting over the internet with a 16-year-old girl.

Gehlhoff is on GPS monitoring and probation with North Dakota Parole and Probation. He is not wanted by law enforcement.
