The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Southeast Region will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, April 16, in Stutsman County near Jamestown. After the conclusion of the checkpoint troopers will focus enforcement patrols within Stutsman County, in an effort to remove impaired motorists from the roadway.
So far in 2021, nine of the 22 traffic fatalities occurred during alcohol-related crashes. Alcohol and drug-related crashes are preventable; every driver needs to consistently make the choice to always drive sober or to designate a sober driver, according to the patrol.
