The Spiritwood Energy Park Association board unanimously agreed to extend an exclusivity agreement with "Company X" on Wednesday.
The board voted following an executive session to extend the agreement to Aug. 31, 2021. It had been set to expire on April 30, said Connie Ova, chief operating officer of SEPA and CEO of the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp., which is a partner in SEPA with Great River Energy.
The agreement specifies that the energy park will only consider the anonymous Company X for the development of a soybean processing plant at the industrial park at Spiritwood.
Company X was previously identified as Archer Daniels Midland in court documents for an unrelated case. That information has not been confirmed by the energy park association or Archer Daniels Midland.

This is the fourth time the agreement has been extended, Ova said.
