Ryan Drake has signed a Dakota Athletic Conference letter of intent to attend Jamestown College and compete in track and field.

Drake was a member of the Kansas City Smoke Olympic Development team while attending Johnson County Community College and was a member of the Kansas City Sprinters Elite Track Team and World Exchange Team in Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France. He holds the school records for Lee's Summit North High School in the 100, 200 and 400 meters while collecting all-state, all-district and all-sectional selections three times in the sprints.

"Ryan will give us a big boost in the sprint area," said Jimmie men's track and field coach Brent Tischer. "He comes into the Jimmie program as a proven performer and will have an immediate impact on the squad in 2008. We are really happy he has chosen Jamestown College to continue his career."

Drake's top times to date are: 100 meters, 10.56; 200 meters, 20.98; 400 meters, 47.57. He will also compete for the Jimmies in the 400 and 1600 relays.
