MINOT (AP) -- Minot police say they chased a drug suspect in vehicles and on foot before finally arresting him with the help of a stun gun.

The chase began shortly before 9 p.m. Monday in a business parking lot when the 29-year-old Williston man fled from task force officers with a drug dog. The man eventually got his pickup truck stuck in a field and fled on foot.

The drug dog helped officers track down the man. Police said one of the arresting officers used a Taser on the suspect twice to get him to spit from his mouth what officers said was a baggy of methamphetamine. Officers said they also seized $1,735 in cash. The man was arrested on several charges.
