Taxable sales and purchases up

Taxable sales and purchases in Jamestown and Stutsman County are up for the second quarter of 2011, according to the state Office of the State Tax Commissioner.

Taxable sales and purchases in Jamestown and Stutsman County are up for the second quarter of 2011, according to the state Office of the State Tax Commissioner.

Jamestown and Stutsman County saw a roughly 14 percent increase from April, May and June in 2011 compared to the same months in 2010.

Those numbers across the state, however, were up 31.5 percent compared to last year.

Jamestown had $61,265,797 in the second quarter of 2011 compared to $53,353,775 for the second quarter of 2010, a 14.83 percent increase in taxable sales.

Taxable sales and purchases here are up 14.48 percent to $63,541,819 for the second quarter in 2011, from $55,505,653 in 2010.

In Stutsman County taxable sales rose to $62,780,472 in 2011, from $54,894,639 in 2010, an increase of 14.37 percent.

Taxable sales and purchases in the county were up 14.71 percent to $66,358,387 in 2011 from $57,848,641 in 2010.
