UPDATE: Thornton elected to Southeast District Court judgeship

James D. Hovey, Daniel D. Narum, Jay Schmitz and Troy LeFevre each were reelected for the judgeship in Southeast District Court.

JAMESTOWN – Nick D. Thornton was elected to the only contested judgeship race for Southeast District Court.

In unofficial results, Thornton has 54% of the vote with 100% of the precincts reporting while Paul C. Murphy has 45.6% for the judge of the District Court No. 2 to replace Mark Blumer.

Blumer did not seek reelection.

James D. Hovey, Daniel D. Narum, Jay Schmitz and Troy LeFevre each were reelected and ran unopposed for their judgeship positions. LeFevre was leading with 99.6% of the vote, followed by Hovey, Narum and Schmitz, who each had 99.4% of the vote.

All judgeship seats are six-year terms.
