Three injured in rollover in Valley City, ND

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover and one was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday, March 29, in Valley City, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

VALLEY CITY — Three people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover and one was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday, March 29, in Valley City, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A 19-year-old Valley City man was driving a Chevrolet C/K 1500 pickup east on 118th Avenue Southeast in Valley City at about 7:30 a.m. with a 23-year-old Valley city man, a 19-year-old woman from Oriska, North Dakota, and a 16-year-old male juvenile from Valley City.

The patrol said the driver was traveling at an excessive speed on the gravel road, lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch. The pickup overturned and came to rest on its driver's side, the patrol said.

The patrol said the 23-year-old man and the 19-year-old woman were injured in the rollover and were transported by Valley City Ambulance to CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City to be treated for their injuries. The juvenile was not injured.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, the patrol said.

The Valley City Police Department and Barnes County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

The patrol is investigating the crash.
