Sergeant At Arms Swan Loften called the Toastmasters meeting to order July 26. Nine members attended.

Toastmaster Sherri Kleinknecht reviewed tips for effective speech evaluations. Speaker Paul Behle presented a training module project on ways to find good ideas for future speech topics.

Table topics master Deb Alber asked questions to selected impromptu speakers Rick Pfeiffer, Sherry Musgrave and Heather Goudreau. Evaluator Goudreau provided feedback to Behle on the effectiveness of his module along with suggestions for improvement.

Ah-Counter/Grammarian Kerri Albrecht recounted cases of improper language, vocal fill-ins, ahs and other speaking errors documented during the meeting. General Evaluator Loften shared his reactions to the meeting and overall impressions and suggestions for improving future meetings.

Anita Monek served as timer.

Awards given were: Behle, Best Speaker; Pfeiffer, Best Table Topic speaker; and Goudreau, best evaluator.

Jamestown Toastmasters will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the basement meeting room at Babb's Coffee House in downtown Jamestown. The meeting is open to the public.
