Tribe tapped for business development center

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has been selected as a center to help tribes in the Dakotas with government contracts, training and technical assistance.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has been selected as a center to help tribes in the Dakotas with government contracts, training and technical assistance.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that the tribe was selected for the center by the Native American Development Corp.

The program was authorized by Congress in 1985 to increase the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace.

The new center will be located in Fort Yates.
