Two Fargo schools to meet under one roof

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Fargo South High School this year is hosting two high schools' worth of students, and two sets of competing varsity sports teams.

When classes start Wednesday, at least 1,550 students will flood the halls of South. About half of the sophomores and juniors will be Bruins. The other half will be Davies High Eagles, who must wait a year for their building to open.

Students say that could get a little awkward at times, especially when it comes to rival sports.

Neither of the principals of the two schools expects big problems during the odd transition year. But Todd Bertsch of South and Jeff Schatz of Davies say they'll be watching closely.
