Two men were arrested Thursday, April 30, on suspicion of multiple charges following an investigation of an incident Thursday morning where at least one gunshot was fired in northeast Jamestown, said Maj. Justin Blinsky, assistant chief of the Jamestown Police Department.
Blinksy said in a news release the gunshot fired during an altercation led to multiple search warrants being served at multiple locations and the arrest of the men on multiple charges stemming from the incident and other crimes discovered during the investigation.
Justin Wayne Mickelson, 27, of Jamestown has been arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and schedule II, III, and IV controlled substances and other drug-related offenses.
James Joseph Goodroad, 34, of Jamestown has been arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a schedule I controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver a schedule I controlled substance and other drug-related offenses.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Stutsman County Correctional Center awaiting formal charges. The investigation into the incident continues and further charges are possible, according to Blinsky.

At 7:45 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a 911 call reporting shots being fired after an altercation between two males. The 911 caller who reported the incident to police was involved in the incident but had left prior to calling, police said. An initial investigation determined that the shots were fired in the 700 block of 2nd Avenue Northeast.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the Stutsman County Drug Task Force.
