GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- University of North Dakota officials will hold a briefing next week to go over their plans to retire the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that students were sent e-mails on Thursday inviting them to the briefing scheduled for noon Monday at Memorial Union. University officials will use the gathering to review the transition process.
UND has started retiring the nickname and Indian head logo, under orders from the state Board of Higher Education.
