A Valley City man is in custody in Jamestown on suspicion of attempting to lure a juvenile from Jamestown to perform sexual acts, accoriding to information released by the Jamestown Police Department.
Timothy Eugene Radtke, 46, was arrested in Valley City and is being held in the Stutsman County Corrections Department pending formal charges.
The investigation began when the Jamestown Police Department received a report a Valley City man was sending explicit messages to a juvenile in Jamestown.
A joint investigation by the Jamestown and Valley City Police Departments and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation alleges that there were continuous sexually explicit messages beginning May of 2021 in an attempt to induce sexual acts. Investigators also allege the suspect and juvenile engaged in commercial sexual activities and that Radtke knew the person was a juvenile.
Formal charges are pending although Radtke is currently being held on suspicion of gross sexual imposition, luring a minor by computer or electronic means and patronizing a minor for commercial sexual activity.
