JAMESTOWN — Valley Plains Equipment has contributed $12,500 to Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation to renovate playing fields at McElroy Park.
McElroy Park, located in Jamestown, is the home to youth baseball, fastpitch softball, high school and college baseball and softball programs as well as amateur leagues. Located in the center of the state, McElroy Park is the ideal location for large-scale, high-quality tournaments for convenient access to teams throughout the state. The field renovations will consist of three phases. These phases will provide renovations to the youth complex and Jack Brown Stadium.
“Valley Plains Equipment is honored to give back to the communities we serve," said Aaron Raap, general manager, Valley Equipment. "The renovation of McElroy Park fields will benefit generations of children in Jamestown, many of who will be employee’s and customer’s children and grandchildren. We look forward to seeing the baseball program and community grow as a result of this project."
The first phase of construction is planned to begin in the fall of 2023. This initial phase is anticipated to include a tee ball field, one Babe Ruth field, two Cal Ripken fields and a restroom and concessions building.
“Jamestown Parks and Recreation and Jaybal are grateful to businesses like Valley Plains Equipment that prioritize supporting needs in the communities they operate in," said Amy Walters, executive director, Jamestown Parks and Recreation. "With each donation we receive, we become that much closer to our goal. We thank Valley Plains Equipment for making a difference in our community.”
