Warming houses open in Jamestown

Warming houses will not open if the temperature or wind chill is minus 15 or below.

Warming houses have opened in Jamestown at the Bunker and McElroy and Meidinger parks, Jamestown Parks and Recreation announced Monday, Dec. 26,

Regular warming house hours are from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be extended to 1 to 5:30 p.m. during the school holiday break from Tuesday through Monday, Dec. 27 through Jan. 2.

Warming houses will not open if the outdoor temperature or wind chill is minus 15 or below.

The warming houses are located at::

  • the Bunker, 1520 3rd St. SE, where there is asledding hill.
  • McElroy Park, 1000 block and 2nd Aveneu Southeast, where ice hockey/skating rink and groomed cross-country ski trails are located. Rentals are available for $5 for boots and skis.
  • Meidinger Park, 10th Street and 17th Avenue Southwest, where there is a skating rink.
