Stutsman County's outdoor warning sirens will activate on Wednesday, April 26, at about 11:15 a.m. as part of the statewide test of the system, said Scott Cebula, Stutsman County Communications Center.
The sirens are expected to sound for 3 minutes, he said.
The test is occurring during Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week in North Dakota, which Gov. Doug Burgum proclaimed for April 24-28.
The National Weather Service, North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, the North Dakota Emergency Management Association and other agencies recommend staying informed through various means of alerts, according to news release from Burgum's office. Additional alerts could include outdoor warning sirens, radio and television broadcasts, all-hazards radio and cable-interrupt alerts. All these methods may not be available in all areas of the state, however, radio and television outlets broadcast current weather conditions and predictions during storm situations.
