The Jamestown Street Department on Wednesday announced plans to begin snow removal on emergency routes at 5 a.m. Thursday in anticipation of overnight snowfall.
City crews will move to residential areas at 11 a.m. and begin work downtown at 11 p.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for more much of south central and southeastern North Dakota including the Jamestown area. The advisory is in effect through noon on Thursday.
Overnight snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected with wind gusts up to 35 mph. The conditions will result in blowing snow that could significantly reduce visibility along with dangerously cold wind chills.
