A flood watch issued by the National Weather Service Thursday was extended Friday through 1 p.m. Monday April 1.

The watch covers Dickey, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh and Stutsman counties and was set to expire on Sunday when originally issued.

The watch includes rural areas and Apple Creek in Burleigh County, Beaver Creek in Emmons County and the tributaries of the James and Maple rivers in Stutsman, LaMoure and Dickey counties.

People in the watch area are advised to be prepared for overland flooding and overtopping of township and county roads in the area.
