FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Rain has made it difficult for North Dakota farmers to complete their field work and harvest their crops.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says on average there were only 2.2 days suitable for fieldwork statewide because of the rain.
Farmers need a stretch of dry weather to complete the small grain harvest.
The USDA says about 92 percent of spring wheat has been harvested. That's behind the average of 98 percent complete at this time of year.
About 75 percent of durum wheat has been harvested, well behind the average of 94 percent complete.

The canola harvest is only about 83 percent done. That's also behind the average of 94 percent complete.
