The economic impacts of wind farm development will be discussed by Dr. Larry Leistritz at a Community Development Roundtable program to be held Wednesday evening Nov. 11, in Medina. This is the meeting that was previously scheduled for Oct. 14, but was postponed because of weather conditions.

Dr. Leistritz is a Distinguished Professor of Agribusiness and Applied Economics at North Dakota State University in Fargo. For more than 35 years he has been engaged in research, teaching and outreach activities focused on economic assessments of agricultural and natural resource development. His presentation will be based on studies he conducted of the impact of nature tourism as part of the evening program.

The Community Development Roundtable is a periodic program being developed by community-based organizations in Medina to discuss economic opportunities and issues that could enhance the future of western Stutsman County. It has previously hosted meetings of Just Wind, LLC, which has secured leases for wind development in the Medina area. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Zion United Church of Christ at 110 Water St. E. Coffee and cookies will be provided. All interested persons are invited to attend.
