Woman sentenced for counterfeiting

GRAND FORKS (AP) -- A Grand Forks woman accused of making and using counterfeit money has been sentenced in federal court to six months of electronic home confinement.

GRAND FORKS (AP) -- A Grand Forks woman accused of making and using counterfeit money has been sentenced in federal court to six months of electronic home confinement.

Thirty-three-year-old Lolita Amick also was ordered to perform 300 hours of community service and spend three years on probation.

Amick pleaded guilty to a charge of trying to use fake money, and prosecutors dropped a charge of manufacturing money.

Police documents say Amick was caught last September trying to use a fake $100 bill to pay for a pitcher of beer at a bar.
