MAPLETON, N.D. (AP) -- Residents of this community were advised not to use natural gas appliances Monday while an underground gas leak was repaired.
Xcel Energy officials said the leak posed no immediate danger to people in the Cass County community. They expected to have repairs finished Monday night.
The West Fargo Police Department closed Cass County Road 19, also known as Stockyards Road, after contractors working in the area noticed the leak.
The contractors alerted Xcel Energy, said Bonnie Lund, a company spokeswoman. Three Xcel crews were called in and the road remained closed as a safety precaution.
"No one specifically caused it," Lund said. "It was just not operating properly."
