BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Thursday, April 8. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 201
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,236
- TOTAL CASES: 104,364
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 101,660
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.4%
North Dakota's active case count increased by 65 on Thursday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 66 new cases and has nearly 43% of the state's active cases, which have more than doubled since late February. Cases are also growing in the Bismarck and Grand Forks areas. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 4.9%.

DEATHS, NEWLY REPORTED:
TOTAL DEATHS: 1,468
Hospitalizations rose by three over the previous day.
FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 253,114 (43.3% of eligible population)
FULL VACCINE COVERAGE: 184,837 (31.6% of eligible population)
