BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Friday, April 9. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.

Statewide case rates

  • NEW CASES: 125
  • TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,183
  • TOTAL CASES: 104,488
  • TOTAL RECOVERED: 101,835
  • DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.6%

North Dakota's active case count dropped by 53 on Friday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 29 new cases, while Grand Forks County saw 23 new cases. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 4.9%.

The department reported the deaths of a Ward County man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s from Renville County. Hospitalizations rose by four over the previous day.

Vaccinations

  • FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 257,255 (44% of eligible population)

  • FULL VACCINE COVERAGE: 191,597 (32.8% of eligible population)

The state continues to be a national leader in vaccine distribution, with a total of 463,772 shots administered. The health department urges residents to seek more information at www.health.nd.gov/covidvaccinelocator.
