SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Active COVID-19 cases in South Dakota dropped to a low not seen since Aug. 20, according to weekly data reported by the South Dakota Department of Health on Wednesday, March 23.
The following are the state Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Wednesday. All data is the latest available but should be considered preliminary and could be updated at a later date by health officials.
Vaccinations
- INITIAL DOSE ADMINISTERED (IF 2-DOSE VACCINE): 71.57% of state's population
- FULLY VACCINATED: 58.69% of state's population
- BOOSTER DOSE RECEIVED: 32.73% of state's vaccinated population
Note: Vaccination percentages are provided by the SD Department of Health, based on the 2019 Census data, counting South Dakotans age 5 and older for initial dose and full vaccination, and age 16 and older for the booster dose
