ROCHESTER — You might not be able to control how long you live, but there are many ways you can boost how you look and feel while you're still here. It's all about making small changes that, over time, can add up to big results. It's about prevention.
"I survived cancer twice," says Dr. Stephen Kopecky , a preventive cardiologist at Mayo Clinic and author of the book " Live Younger, Longer: 6 Steps to Prevent Heart Disease, Cancer, Alzheimer's and More ." "But I came to realize that I'm more likely to die of heart disease. And that anything I can do to prevent heart disease would also prevent cancer, would also prevent Alzheimer's disease, would also prevent diabetes."
Kopecky says the keys to living younger longer include healthy food, moving more doing activities you like to do, reducing stress and having people or pets in your life you can count on to be there for you.
Watch or listen to Dr. Kopecky give practical tips on how to make small changes for big results in this episode of NewsMD's "Health Fusion."
