City approves Runnin O’ the Green request

The Jamestown City Council authorized 4-0 Wednesday, with Councilman Ramone Gumke absent, the closing of streets and permitting alcoholic beverages in fenced-off areas for the 40th Annual Runnin O’ the Green on March 17.

Pam Phillips, council member, asked Jamestown Chief of Police Scott Edinger if growlers, which are larger carryout containers for beer, would be allowed on city streets during the event. He said growlers would be allowed, but like all alcoholic beverages during the Runnin O’ the Green, the growlers have to be sealed while outside of the designated drinking areas.
