South Dakota man sentenced for eavesdropping camera
BRITTON, S.D. - A Britton man will serve time in prison after admitting to installing a camera in the bedroom of another person's home.
Mark E. Olson, 37, pleaded guilty to felony burglary and unauthorized use of an eavesdropping device, a misdemeanor.
The burglary charge stems from Olson installing a camera in the bedroom of an Amherst home, according to court documents. They also indicate he did not have permission to do so.
It was alleged that Olson installed cameras in two Amherst homes, according to the documents.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison with three years suspended for burglary. He was sentenced to one year in jail for using an eavesdropping device. He was fined a total of $1,188 and ordered to pay $4,956 in restitution.
