Agnes Lipetzky, 90, Fargo, formerly Kensal, ND passed away peacefully on August 25, 2018 at Touchmark in Fargo. Agnes, one of 12 siblings, was born near Mott, ND on June 4, 1928 to Anton and Margaret Rausch.
The Rausch family, in 1933, moved to the Courtenay-Kensal area. In 1946 Agnes graduated from St. John's Academy in Jamestown, ND. After graduating, Agnes taught one year in a country school near Fried, married Roy Lipetzky in 1947, and taught the following year in the country school mile from the Lipetzky farm, 9 miles northeast of Kensal.
Agnes and Roy had four children and owned and operated the family farm until Roy passed away in 1986. Agnes continued to reside on the family farm and assist her son Kevin who operated the farm. After moving to Fargo in 1996, Agnes spent summers on the farm until 2004.
Agnes was active in the Kensal community as a member and officer of numerous organizations as well as being treasurer of Eastman Township. Agnes was an avid whist, pinochle, and bingo player. She enjoyed meeting people, making friends, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandson.
Agnes is survived by her children, Gary, JoAnn (Jim) Unruh, Kevin (Donna), and Tom (Barbara); granddaughter, Chelsea; and great-grandson, Ryker; sister, Hildegarde Sodawasser; brothers, Anton (Karen) and Joseph Rausch; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents; daughter-in-law, Linda; 6 sisters and 2 brothers; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; and other family members.
A funeral Mass will be held at Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:30 AM with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers and memorials, the family requests your thoughts and prayers for their mother.
