Audrey Mae Donegan, age 91, formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.
Audrey Moug was born August 3, 1927, in Jamestown, to Erwin Moug and Lynfred (Elliott) Moug. She attended school in Bowdon, ND, and graduated in 1945. Upon graduation, she worked as a Telegraph Operator for the Northern Pacific Railway in Mandan, ND, and was the first woman to be offered a Depot position, which she did turn down. In 1946, Audrey met and fell in love with Robert Donegan, who was a Railroad Engineer in Jamestown. They were united in marriage on August 26, 1950, at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, ND. From their union, Audrey and Robert were blessed with two children, Kelly and Jennine.
Audrey enjoyed many family vacations to the Black Hills, Detroit Lakes, and many trips to the Ice Follies show in Minneapolis. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and she treasured the time she had with them. She also enjoyed baking, bowling, and had a special love for animals. She was very active in the Democratic Party on both the State and National level and was the James Valley Rails Secretary.
She is survived by her children, Kelly (Becky) Donegan, Jamestown, and Jennine Albrecht, Jamestown; her five grandchildren, Angie (Jim) Englund, Ryan (Jess) Donegan, Alyson Donegan, Lindsay Donegan, Meredith Albrecht; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bud Moug, Coeur d'Alene, ID; and her beloved pet dog, Roxie.
Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Erwin and Lynfred; sister Alice Hart; and son-in-law Tim Albrecht.
Memorials may be made to the John Dardis Memorial Hospice Gift Fund at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 10:30AM at Voorhees Chapel at the Jamestown College Campus.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
