Archie Harold Hieb

Archie H. Hieb, 94, passed away July 1, 2019 at his home. A Funeral was held at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt funeral home, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, with a concluding graveside at Mount Hope Cemetery, College Place, WA. Archie was born to Edward and Amelia (Trautman) Hieb in Jamestown, ND on September 25, 1924 and grew up on the homestead farm, North of Cleveland, ND, attending the local country school and finishing high school at Sheyene River Academy. On December 22, 1947 Archie married Lyndel Peterson in Minneapolis, MN, and took over his father’s farm until moving to Walla Walla in 1973. He then worked as an irrigation landscaper, and lastly was a personal property and rental owner. Archie was a loving and respected family man, devoting his life to his wife, children and grandchildren, through his love of the Lord and his generous spirit to both family and church. He served his church as deacon, was involved with many committees and projects, sharing his building and handyman skills, which included several Maranatha trips to Alaska building churches. Archie is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lyndel Hieb, three daughters; Kris Christensen, Kandyce Hallam, Kenda Hieb, three sons; Bruce, Randy, and Brian Hieb, one sister, Lila Hieb Schlenker, 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alvin and Earl Hieb, a sister, Irene Nelson, and two sons, Jon and Michael Hieb.
