Marvel Dorothy Hust Schmidt Obituary Marvel Dorothy Hust Schmidt was born July 10, 1923 in Streeter, North Dakota to Jacob and Wilhelmina Hust. She had five brothers: Harvey, Arnold, Jim, Jerome, and Donald. She attended grades 1-8 at Country School but was needed at home to help cook and keep house, as well as being a little “Shepherdess” in the fields. She met and married Arthur Schmidt of Streeter, ND on June 9, 1943. They lived and worked in Jamestown, N. Dakota and had one son, Jerry, and two grandsons, Cory and Ryan whom they doted on and loved dearly. Marvel taught Sunday School for 40 years and was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She took care of her mother like few other daughters would, spending lots of time with her every day. Marvel was employed by J.C. Penny’s for over forty years and loved helping people with their purchases. In 1981 they moved here to Colorado to be near their little family and became involved at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilhelmina and Jake Hust, Art Schmidt (husband), Dr. Jerry Schmidt (son), Ryan Schmidt (grandson), and brothers Harvey, Arnie, and Don Hust. Interment was held Saturday July 6, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, North Dakota next to her late husband Art. Memorial Contributions in her honor can be given to Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church Deacon Fund or St. Paul United Methodist Church Air Conditioner Fund in Jamestown, N.D.
