Elsie Robyt


Elsie Robyt, 92, Jamestown, ND passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at SMP Health-Ave Maria, Jamestown, ND.

Elsie M. Schielke was born May 2, 1931 on the family farm north of Windsor, ND in Stutsman County to Oswald and Ida (Lehmann) Schielke. She attended Windsor Schools and helped on the family farm.

Elsie married Walter Robyt on May 26, 1948 at the Eldridge Lutheran Church. She moved to the Robyt family farm north of Eldridge, ND farming with her husband and his parents. They were blessed with two daughters Yvonne Becker, Jamestown, ND, Carol (Allen) Dolliver, Valley City, ND; son Michael (Dorothy) Robyt, Eldridge, ND.

Elsie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND, confirmed and baptized and taught Bible school in Eldridge, ND. She loved gardening, sewing, making afghans and stained glass. Elsie enjoyed fishing with family and loved spending time with all the children and grandchildren.

Elsie and Walter retired from farming and moved to Jamestown in 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Becker, Jamestown, ND, Carol (Allen) Dolliver, Valley City, ND; son Michael (Dorothy) Robyt, Eldridge, ND; seven grandchildren Jarred (Jennifer) Gasal, Jamestown, ND, Greg Gasal, Jamestown, ND, Jeff Dolliver, Valley City, ND, Loren (Courtney) Dolliver, Gilette, WY, Todd Robyt, Jamestown, ND, Doug (Sarah) Robyt, Eldridge, ND, Lisa Roberg, Jamestown, ND; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters Erna Kable, Osage, MN, Shirley Quesnel, Cedar, MN; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents, four sisters, four brothers, one son-in-law, one infant brother, one grandson and one nephew.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to SMP Health-Ave Maria or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
