Mylo Gilbertson

On May 2nd, 2023, Mylo Wayne Gilbertson, 93, passed away in his home, surrounded by family. Mylo was born  December 1, 1929 to Luella and Alfred Gilbertson in Kathryn, ND. He attended school until the 8th grade, when he  left to work for a local farmer. He enlisted in the Military when he was 17 years old and served for 2 years with  honorable discharge. Mylo worked trucking cattle as well as for Standard Oil, in carpentry with his brothers, and was  self-employed with a small engine repair/saw sharpening service shop that he ran out of his home. He met Dawn  (Baker) in 1991 and they were married on August 2, 1999.  Mylo welcomed 6 children with his first wife, Patsy (Strand): Michael, Ronald, Daniel, Vicki, Jodi, Karmen. He  welcomed one more son with his second wife Lorraine (Waisanen): Travis. Lorraine also brought 4 bonus children:  Rick, Tom, Diane, and Jon. His marriage to Dawn brought 3 bonus children: Heather, Brittany, and Danielle.

Preceded in death by: his son Ronald; Brothers Gordon, Donald, Wesley, Norman; Sister Audrey; and Parents  Alfred and Luella

Survived by: His wife Dawn; his children Mike (Kim Murray), Dan (Jill), Vicki Nitschke (Rick Diede), Jodi (Kevin)  Reuther, Karmen (Todd) Whitney, Travis (Jayla); step-children Rick Waisanen, Tom (Tracy) Waisanen, Diane (Steve)  Bossart, Jon (Lori) Waisanen, Heather (Nathan) Gunderson, Brittany (Corey) Gannarelli, and Danielle (Jayden)  Chuppe; sister Ruth; brothers Dennis and Harold; and numerous grandchildren and great grand-children.

Celebration of life will be held on May 20th, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. at the Senior Center located at 419 5th ST NE  Jamestown, ND 58401.
