Peggy Ostlie-McCollum

Peggy McCollum, 98, of Jamestown, ND passed away April 21, 2021 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center after injuries from a fall. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood, ND. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Althea (Peggy) Hayward was born January 19, 1923 to Virgil and Myrtle (Cruse) Hayward in Doyon, ND. The family moved to Shevlin, MN when she was 5 and she grew up in that area.

She married Gilmore Ostlie on September 2, 1944. They lived in Northwood and their 6 children there. Gilmore died in 1992. She later married Richard McCollum. They lived in Mahnomen and Bagley, MN. Richard died in 2006 after which she lived in Grand Forks and Northwood before moving to Jamestown in 2014.

She is survived by her children, Renae (Robert) Cohen, New York, NY; Neil (Sue) Ostlie, Runaway Bay, TX; Dan Ostlie, Las Vegas, NV; Mitchell Ostlie, Jamestown, ND. 16 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sisters Donna Soderstrom and Marlos Bates and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gilmore and Richard. Children Ward and Cheryl. 11 siblings.
