* Bravo to Dan Faust, of Valley City, N.D., and all the volunteers who helped him harvest 28 tons of produce that he donated to the Great Plains Food Bank. More than 200 Valley City State University students and other volunteers helped bring in the squash, potatoes, onions, carrots, beets and cabbage.

* Bravo to the Stern family, who received the Minnesota State University Moorhead's 30th annual L.B. Hartz Professional Achievement Award. It's presented annually by MSUM's College of Business and Industry to those who have created economic opportunities for others through innovation, entrepreneurship and community service. The family has been in business in North Dakota since 1879.
