Bravo to Hill, award recipient
The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos and a buffalo chip this week:
*Bravo to Clint Hill, who has been named the 44th recipient of the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, the state’s highest honor by Gov. Doug Burgum. Hill is the former U.S. Secret Service agent who climbed on top of the presidential limousine to protect the people in the car when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Hill, who was born in Larimore, grew up in Washburn and served in the Secret Service from 1958 to 1975.
*Buffalo chip to continuing wet conditions here that are hampering harvest, construction projects and end-of-season chores including cleaning up yards. Temperatures are expected to improve later next week.
*Bravo to the North Dakota Community Foundation for awarding more than $500,000 in scholarships to more than 350 students in the 2018 year. And bravo to those people who contribute funds to support the scholarships that are given to deserving students.
