The Jamestown hands out these bravos this week:
- Bravo to the volunteers who have been helping sandbag and place sandbags this week in Jamestown in preparation for water releases from Jamestown and Pipestem reservoirs. Releases are projected to be at 2,400 cubic feet per second a week from now, so the help to prepare for it is badly needed. And bravo to the city of Fargo for donating 40,000 sandbags to Jamestown.
- Bravo to Jeff Boschee, Whitney Carlson Bruins, Doug Beaudoin and Mike Peluso, who will receive the Cliff Cushman Award and be inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame on June 13, 2020, at the Jamestown Civic Center. The state’s 2020 sports hall of fame class was announced Oct. 14.
- Bravo to Meghan Ford of Jamestown High School, who took first in the WDA cross country championships with a time of 17 minutes, 49.88 seconds.
- Bravo to North Dakota setting more oil and gas records in August, which was announced this week. Producers pumped out about 1.48 million barrels of oil per day in August, a new daily production record. Natural gas production also exceeded 3 billion cubic feet per day.
