The Jamestown hands out these bravos this week:

  • Bravo to Meghan Ford, who was named Gatorade North Dakota Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second year in a row on Monday. The Jamestown High School junior finished the 2019 high school cross country season winning the West Region title and a second individual state championship. She also won the Nike Cross Heartland Regional in November with a new personal record of 17.19, automatically qualifying her to compete at the Nike Cross National meet in Portland, Oregon.
  • Bravo to the warmer weather in the last week to 10 days. The higher temperatures increase evaporation from the snowpack reducing moisture in the snow and the risk of spring flooding. The higher temperatures also improve people's moods.
  • Bravo to the second annual North Dakota Hockey Day. While some events were rescheduled due to stormy weather, the Hockey Day still drew the expected teams to participate in the outdoor event.

Editorials are the opinion of Jamestown Sun management and the newspaper’s editorial board.
