Bravo to area athletes

The Jamestown Sun hands out four sports-related bravos this week.

The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos this week:

  • Bravo to Grace Hegerle, Jamestown High School senior voted to the Class A girls basketball all-state second team for the second straight year. She received the honor from the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA).
  • Bravo to Carson Lamp, Jamestown High School senior voted to the Class A boys basketball all-state second team by the NDAPSSA.

  • Bravo to Alex Huber of Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier and Lucas Schumacher of Linton/HMB, who were recently named to the Class B boys basketball all-state first team by the NDAPSSA. And, to Ellendale's Scott Wagner who was named to the Class B all-state second team. Schumacher and Wagner were second-team selections last year.

  • Bravo to Madelyn Schmidt of Kidder County and Sadie Hansen of Oakes, who were recently named to the all-state second team in Class B girls basketball by the NDAPSSA. Schmidt received the honor for a third consecutive year.
  • Bravo to the University of Jamestown’s shooting sports team, which qualified for the Association of College Unions International Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Bravo to the Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier boys basketball team, which placed second in the state Class B boys basketball championship game against Kindred in Minot.
